What Is the J.O.L. Program?

Since September 1, 2007, the Massachusetts RMV requires all drivers between 16½ and 18 years old to complete a certified Driver’s Education Program before applying for a full driver’s license.

The course includes classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training, and a parent/guardian class — all designed to help young drivers become safer and more responsible.

Once completed, Patriots Driving School submits your certificate directly to the RMV, making you eligible to schedule your Road Test.

  • 12 hours of behind-the-wheel training
  • 6 hours of in-car observation
